At Crofton Dental Care, we sometimes see patients with loose or non-restorable upper teeth that can affect everyday activities such as eating and chewing. In this case, Joanne attended with concerns about loose upper teeth and difficulty wearing removable dentures comfortably.
Following a comprehensive clinical assessment, we discussed the available treatment options and developed a personalised treatment plan involving an All-on-4 full upper arch implant-supported restoration. Digital planning, including intraoral scanning and CBCT imaging, formed part of the treatment planning process.

Step 1: Consultation
Joanne attended Crofton Dental Care with concerns about loose upper teeth that had been assessed as not suitable for long-term restoration, as well as difficulty eating, chewing, and wearing removable dentures.
During the consultation, we carried out a comprehensive clinical assessment, discussed suitable treatment options, and answered questions about the treatment process. Following assessment and planning, Joanne decided to proceed with an All-on-4 upper arch implant-supported restoration.

Step 2: Surgical Implant Guide
A custom surgical guide was produced as part of the treatment planning process.
The guide was created using digital planning information to assist with implant placement according to Joanne’s individual anatomy and treatment requirements.

Step 3: Digital Intraoral and CBCT Scanning
Digital intraoral scans and CBCT imaging were completed as part of the treatment planning process.
These records provided detailed information to support treatment planning and communication between the dental team and laboratory before implant placement and restoration.

Step 4: Final All-on-4 Upper Arch Restoration
Once treatment and healing were complete, the final All-on-4 upper-arch implant-supported restoration was fitted.
The completed restoration provided a fixed implant-supported replacement option for the upper arch and was designed to support everyday functions such as eating and chewing based on the patient’s individual treatment plan.

The Outcome
Joanne’s treatment involved replacing upper teeth that had been assessed as loose and not suitable for long-term restoration with an All-on-4 implant-supported restoration.
The treatment journey included consultation, digital planning, guided implant placement, and the fitting of a fixed upper implant-supported restoration.
As with all dental treatments, outcomes, treatment times, and suitability for implant treatment vary depending on individual clinical factors, oral health, healing, and treatment needs.
This case study is provided for educational purposes. Individual treatment plans and outcomes vary according to each patient’s clinical circumstances.
