At Crofton Dental Care, we sometimes see patients who are unable to wear removable dentures due to factors such as a gag reflex. In this case, the patient attended with a fully edentulous upper arch and was looking to explore alternative treatment options.

Step 1: Consultation and Assessment
When the patient came in, we carried out a clinical assessment and reviewed their concerns, including difficulty wearing a removable denture due to a strong gag reflex.
We discussed suitable treatment options based on their oral health and preferences. A non-obligatory consultation allows patients to explore different approaches and understand what may be appropriate for their individual situation.

Step 2: All-on-6 Upper Arch Restoration
The upper arch was restored using an All-on-6 (AO6) implant-supported bridge, where implants are placed to support a full-arch fixed restoration.
This type of treatment is planned according to the patient’s clinical needs and is designed to function within the existing bite. During placement, we assessed fit, alignment, and how the restoration functioned during everyday activities such as chewing and speaking.

The Outcome
The upper arch was restored using a full-arch implant-supported solution, replacing the missing teeth with a fixed restoration.
This approach can support oral function and provide an alternative to removable dentures in cases where they are not suitable. As with all treatments, outcomes vary depending on individual clinical factors.

If you are considering full-arch implant treatment or are unable to tolerate removable dentures, we can guide you through a personalised consultation to discuss your options. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.
