At Crofton Dental Care, we see patients whose confidence has been affected by broken, decayed, and discoloured teeth. These concerns can also affect everyday social situations. In this case, the patient attended with broken and decayed teeth in the upper arch, including gaps in the back area, along with teeth that had been assessed as unrestorable.
Following a comprehensive clinical assessment, we discussed the available treatment options and developed a personalised treatment plan involving the removal of the unrestorable teeth and the placement of implant-supported crowns to fill the gaps and restore the smile.
Step 1: Consultation

The patient attended Crofton Dental Care unhappy with the appearance of their teeth. Broken, decayed, and discoloured teeth in the upper arch, including gaps in the back area, were affecting the patient’s confidence and social life.
During the consultation, we carried out a comprehensive clinical assessment, discussed the available treatment options, and answered questions about the treatment process. Some of the affected teeth were assessed as not suitable for long-term restoration and were removed as part of the agreed treatment plan.
Step 2: Fabricating the Implant Crowns
Following removal of the unrestorable teeth, implant-supported crowns were fabricated to fill the gaps in the back of the upper arch.
The crowns were fabricated in collaboration with Royal Dental Lab London according to the patient’s individual treatment plan, designed to blend in with the surrounding teeth.

Step 3: Fitting the Implant Crowns
Once fabrication was complete, the implant-supported crowns were fitted to the back of the upper arch to fill the gaps.
The fitted crowns were designed to restore the gaps in the upper arch and support everyday functions such as eating and chewing, based on the patient’s individual treatment plan.

The Outcome
This patient’s treatment involved the removal of unrestorable teeth and the placement of implant-supported crowns to fill gaps in the back of the upper arch.
The treatment journey included consultation, removal of the unrestorable teeth, fabrication of the implant-supported crowns in collaboration with Royal Dental Lab London, and the fitting of the final crowns.
As with all dental treatments, outcomes, treatment times, and suitability for implant treatment vary depending on individual clinical factors, oral health, healing, and treatment needs.
This case study is provided for educational purposes. Individual treatment plans and outcomes vary according to each patient’s clinical circumstances.
