At Crofton Dental Care, we sometimes see patients with a missing front tooth that can affect both function and appearance. In this case, the patient attended with a missing upper right second incisor, which plays a role in biting, speech, and maintaining the position of neighbouring teeth.

Step 1: Consultation and Assessment
When the patient visited us, we carried out a clinical assessment and discussed how the missing tooth was affecting their oral function.
We explained the role of the upper right second incisor in everyday activities such as biting and speech, and reviewed suitable treatment options based on the patient’s oral health and preferences. A personalised treatment plan was then agreed following discussion of the available approaches.

Step 2: Digital Scanning and Planning
In the next stage, we used digital scanning to capture detailed information about the patient’s teeth and surrounding structures. This allows us to plan the position and design of the restoration based on the patient’s individual dental anatomy.
The scan data was shared with our laboratory partner, Royal Dental Lab in London, to begin fabrication of the implant-supported crown. Each restoration is planned according to the patient’s specific clinical needs.

Step 3: Implant Restoration
Once the implant and crown were ready, the restoration was placed in the position of the upper right second incisor.
At this stage, we assessed fit, alignment, and bite function, reviewing how the restoration functioned within the patient’s natural bite and how it supported everyday activities such as chewing and speaking.

The Outcome
The missing upper right second incisor was replaced with an implant-supported crown, restoring the space and supporting function in the treated area.
This type of restoration helps maintain the position of surrounding teeth and contributes to overall bite stability. As with all dental treatments, outcomes vary depending on individual clinical factors.
